Mission- Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that values diversity and builds community by honoring and respecting all children and families.

Vision-UDCC’s overall purpose is to provide a warm, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment that respects and values the individual temperament, needs, and culture of the children and families we serve.  We create a foundation for children to help foster and grow a love of learning, our low teacher to child ratio helps achieve this goal, because we are responsive to each individual's interest and ability. We believe each child deserves a safe space to explore, discover and wonder; we provide opportunities where children can safely practice collaboration, problem solving, listening to others and resolving conflicts. We want to ensure children are able to be socially competent and learn to navigate successfully in the world.

We believe in the the four goals of Anti-Bias education:

Goal 1- Each child will demonstrate self awareness, confidence, family pride, and positive social identities.

Goal 2- Each child will express comfort and joy with human diversity; accurate language for human difference; and deep, caring human connections.

Goal 3-Each child will increasingly recognize unfairness, have a language  to describe unfairness, and understand that unfairness hurts.

Goal 4- Each child will demonstrate empowerment and skills to act, with others or alone, against prejudice and /or discriminatory actions.

We aspire to follow the Creative Curriculum and the Reggio Emilia approach as means to address all major areas of child development, and implement an anti-bias program with an emergent curriculum.
