History

University District Children's Center was originally founded as University Baptist children’s center in 1981, as a mission of the University Baptist Church to provide quality, affordable childcare as its commitment to the health and welfare of young children in the university community. UBCC was housed in University Baptist Church and operated as a financially independent, secular childcare program.

In the fall of 2010, UBCC closed its doors and reopened a few short blocks away in Seattle’s historic University Heights building as University District Children’s Center.
